YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE ENTRY FOR THE COMPETITIONS IF YOU COME TO THE PARTY.

The FAPtastic competitions

  • If there are enough entries, then AGA/OCS/ECS demos will be run in separate compos. Remote entries are most welcome!
  • The compo machine will be an A1200 with an 060/50 and lots of RAM. An A500 1.3 512k/512k will also be available if your prod is not AGA compatible.
  • Questions about compo rules can be asked on our IRC channel (#fap2015 on IRCNet).
  • Send remote entries via e-mail to nosfeh [at] gmail DOT com AND also to fap@tnsp.org before the deadline (check the schedule)

General compo rules

  • Entries delivered on floppydisk should also be delivered as a file, either on USB stick or other PC-compatible media, e-mail attachment (fap@tnsp.org), or as Internet URL (via e-mail or so). You can probably get your disk transferred on the party premises, but the organizers are busy people.
  • Entries should be delivered with an "entryname.txt" infofile with filled entries. For example, if your entry is bb-superdemo.lha, you should also deliver bb-superdemo.txt (see here for example template.)
  • Demo/intro/graphics/video/animation entries should also deliver "entryname_sshot.{png,gif}" (PNG or GIF format respectively - for example "bb-superdemo_sshot.png"), representing a desired screenshot image, at resolution of 640x480 (corrected to 4:3 aspect ratio) from whatever yours is. If your screenshot is not 640x480, it will be converted to such. Graphics compo entries get autogenerated previews, but please provide your own preview file if possible.
  • Music entries MAY include "entryname_sample.{wav,flac,mp3,ogg}", an WAV, FLAC, MP3 or Ogg Vorbis format file that should be a 30 second long clip of the entry, at 44100Hz/16bit/MONO. Our system will transcode them to MP3/OggVorbis files for HTML5 audio. This is entirely optional, but if not provided, we will use openmpt123 to butcher first 30 seconds of your entry automatically to a sample clip. :)

Amiga 40k intro

  • Intro with 40 kilobyte (40960 bytes) size limit.
  • AGA and OCS/ECS entries in same compo, unless there are way so many entries that the compo has to be split.
  • Maximum show time 10min (or until audience gets tired of it.)

  • Anything you can fit into the Amiga bootblock.
  • Should preferably work both in AGA and OCS/ECS setups.
  • If your entry requires interaction, be ready to do that yourself or instruct organizers.

  • Intro with 4 kilobyte (4096 bytes) size limit.
  • AGA and OCS/ECS entries in same compo, unless there are way so many entries that the compo has to be split.

  • Modules will be played with Protracker v2.3d.

  • Deluxe Paint IV-compatible animation or any animation that's been raytraced on Amiga.
  • Will be shown on an AGA Amiga.
  • Please provide the player if it isn't in DPaint IV format.

Amiga ASCII

  • Amiga ASCII art competition.
  • These will be shown with the type command on a 4 colour initial CLI (boot with no startup-sequence)
  • Default AmigaDOS 2.x colours.
  • 77x30 chars are visible.

Graphics

  • IFF format, must be delivered as an IFF/ILBM file loadable in DPaint IV. PNG/JPG/GIF etc will be disqualified.
  • The compo machine will have AGA.
  • PAL and NTSC screen modes are available.

  • The entry must contain content made with an Amiga or it must be about Amiga.
  • Preferably in some common format and codec (h.264/xvid AVI/MKV/MOV/MP4, etc.)
  • Maximum playtime 10 minutes (or when audience gets tired of it.)
